Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Dumo The Fame (Pty) Ltd. They are pending final review by our legal advisers; we will tell you in the app if anything important changes.
1. Using Dumo
You must be 13 or older. You must give a true date of birth. Users aged 13 to 17 cannot earn, buy coins or go LIVE. You are responsible for your account; keep your phone and Google account secure.
2. Your content
You own the videos and other content you post. You give Dumo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, convert, show and promote your content in the app and in Dumo's marketing, for as long as it is on Dumo. Only post content you made or have the right to use, including music.
3. Community guidelines
Be kind. No bullying, hate speech, harassment, nudity, sexual content involving anyone under 18, violence, weapons, drugs or dangerous challenges. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. Content reported by several verified users may be hidden while we review it. You will be told if your video is hidden, and you can appeal once in the app.
4. Coins, gifts and earnings
- Coins are bought through the app store and can only be used to send gifts in Dumo. They have no cash value and are not refundable except where the law requires.
- Creators aged 18+ earn 70% of the value of gifts they receive, a rate per 1,000 qualified views set in the app, and 80% of subscription income after app-store fees.
- Before your first payout you must complete identity verification (SA ID number, ID document copy, selfie and bank account). Automatic payouts run on Fridays with a R50 minimum. Instant PayShap cash-outs cost R5.
- We may hold or reverse earnings that come from fraud, fake views or breaking these terms.
5. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law.
6. Liability
Dumo is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
7. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
